Job Opening: Faculty Position at the Center for EMI Teaching Excellence, Si Wan College National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, R.O.C.

The Center for EMI Teaching Excellence at Si Wan College, National Sun Yat-sen University is looking to fill one non-tenure track contract faculty position in College English instruction.

I. Position:

Full time Contract Assistant Professor for English General Education Program.


II. Qualifications:

A. Doctoral degree in English related disciplines, e.g. ESL, TESL, English linguistics, English literature, etc. from a higher education institution recognized by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan.
B. Experienced in teaching undergraduate English General Education courses and engaged in research activities.
C. Ideal candidate: English native speaker with basic speaking and reading abilities in Chinese.

III. Job Description:

A. Teaching English General Education courses and EAP/ESP courses.
B. Successful applicant is expected to identity with the mission of the EMI Center for Teaching Excellence, has teamwork skills, and is willing to assist with curricular planning and development as well as extra-curricular activities to enhance students’ language skills.

IV. Salary:

In accordance with the Salary Standard for Faculty and Staff at National Sun Yat-sen University.

V. Teaching responsibility:

In accordance with the Hourly Accounting Guidelines for Teachers of National Sun Yat-sen University.

VI. Appointment period:

August 1, 2022-July 31, 2023. Contract is renewable yearly in accordance with annual performance evaluation as stipulated in Implementation Regulations for Employment of Faculty, Researchers, and Staff at National Sun Yat-sen University.
